Digital Banks Are Becoming Part of the Purchase

Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!

Digital banks spent years convincing people to move their money online.

Now they're competing for something else entirely: the moment you decide to buy.

Snappi has expanded its Pay Later service through a new partnership with Public, one of Greece's largest retailers. Customers can split purchases into four interest-free installments directly from the Snappi app, with no extra registration or additional checkout process. It's a small feature on the surface, but one that reflects a much bigger shift.

The race is no longer just about offering a better banking app. It's about being present when customers actually spend money. Whether that's payments, financing, rewards, or shopping, digital banks are steadily moving beyond banking and into everyday commerce.

There's plenty more below.

You'll also find why SoFi and Chime both reported strong Q1 results while pursuing very different growth strategies, and what their latest numbers tell us about the next phase of digital banking.

Cheers,

Marcel
