Eurobank’s €1bn push into the future of banking

Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!

Eurobank is putting €1bn into the future of banking.

The Greek banking group is investing around €1bn until 2028 in its biggest technology programme ever, with AI, cloud, and digital banking at the centre of the plan.

And it’s already a pretty digital bank. 96% of transactions are now carried out digitally, with 61% of those happening through the Eurobank mobile app.

Now it wants to take things further, using AI to personalise services, simplify customer interactions, and even help with mortgage assessments.

The bank is also looking to make its digital services more seamless, while using technology to give employees better tools to serve customers.

But it’s not planning to go fully digital.

The bank is aiming for a mix of digital services and human interaction, creating what it calls a “phygital” banking model.

€1bn is a serious bet on how banking will work in the years ahead.

See you tomorrow!

Cheers,

Marcel
