KakaoBank Posts Record Half-Year Results

KakaoBank just reached 25.86 million users (77% active), as it reported its strongest half-year yet. Net profit rose 14% to 263.7 billion won ($190 million), while operating profit hit 353.2 billion won ($254 million).
The growth came mainly from a 30% jump in noninterest income, now making up over a third of total revenue.
