Klarna Teams Up with Privy to Build a Simple Crypto Wallet for the Masses

Hey Digital Banking Fanatics!

Klarna just signed a research partnership with Privy, the wallet infrastructure platform owned by Stripe.

The goal is clear. Build a crypto wallet simple enough for anyone to use.

This follows the launch of KlarnaUSD, the company’s own stablecoin. Now Klarna wants a wallet that lets everyday users store, move, and transact with digital assets without friction.

That trust gives them a real shot at bringing crypto into normal financial life. Privy already powers more than 100 million accounts and helps users orchestrate billions in crypto flows every month.

Klarna wants to bring that scale to its global user base. A16z estimates 716 million people hold crypto today. Forty to seventy million transact monthly. The market is there, and it’s growing fast.

A quick look at Klarna’s broader plan...

Klarna calls this a research initiative, but it’s laying rails for whatever digital-asset products might come next.

Any launch will still depend on regulatory approvals across multiple markets.

If you're into Digital Banking shake-ups, definitely check out the updates below 👇 I will be back in your inbox next week.

Cheers,

Marcel
