Monzo Is Putting More Money Behind Its European Expansion
Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!
Monzo is putting more money behind its European ambitions.
The digital bank has injected another €25 million into its Irish business, taking its total investment in the Dublin operation to well over €100 million.
And this isn’t just about putting more capital on the balance sheet. Ireland is becoming Monzo’s launchpad for Europe, with its full banking licence allowing the company to passport services across the EU. It’s also expanding its footprint in Spain and moving into a much larger Dublin office that can support a growing team.
The interesting part is that Monzo seems to be building the European infrastructure before going after the scale — a very different phase from its UK growth story.
And while Monzo is scaling across Europe, treasury teams are looking at another way to move money more efficiently.
See you tomorrow!
Cheers,
