Trade Republic Expands Its Banking Offer in Spain as It Reaches 1 Million Customers

Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!

Trade Republic is doubling down in Spain. Nearly 4 years after entering the market, the company has reached a new milestone: 1 million customers across the country. Now, it’s rolling out a broader set of banking services that mirror its expansion path in Germany, France, and Italy.

The new offering includes local Spanish IBANs, automated tax withholding, and 2.25% annual interest on all cash balances, now uncapped. Mutual and index funds are also available from just €1, with support for traspasos (the fund-to-fund transfers widely used by Spanish investors to defer taxes).

“Less than 4 years after launching in Spain, we’re proud to serve more than 1 million customers,” says Christian Hecker, Co-Founder of Trade Republic. “With our Spanish branch, our attractive products come with all local benefits, making it the best offering for your money in the Spanish market.”

Anton Diez Tubet, Country Manager for Spain & Portugal, adds: “We want to ensure that everyone can have access to the best savings and investing opportunities. By introducing our new Spanish IBANs and a market-leading interest offering, all Spaniards can now benefit from our local infrastructure with a seamless and native banking experience.”

Founded in 2015, Trade Republic has held a full banking license since 2023 and now serves 8 million users across 17 European countries. It manages more than €100 billion in client assets and plans to expand its banking services further across the continent.
