UK FinTech Tide Picks Luxembourg for European HQ
Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!
UK-based FinTech Tide will establish its European headquarters in Luxembourg as part of a push to expand across Europe.
Building on its success in the UK, where it serves 900,000 SMEs, Tide expanded into India in late 2022, quickly adding another million users. Now, continental Europe is its next major target.
Now, you might be asking how they plan to grow in Europe. Part of the answer is to obtain a payment institution licence from the CSSF (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier).
The licence would allow Tide to offer payment services, including business current accounts and payment cards, across the European Union through passporting rights.
